I am trying to buy my daughter used figure skates - her level is preliminary moves and freestyle?
This sport is so ridiculously expensive that used skates are the only way my daughter can continue. She is currently in a Gold Star Riedell which was used and she skates fine in them now for 2 years. However she is only 11 and her foot has finally grown, so here I am again and I am looking to get a Jackson Elite with an Ultima freestyle EXT blade. My concern is that I have heard Jacksons are a totally different boot then Riedell. Am I better off staying with a name I know she can skate well in rather then change? Is it really so bad having used skates? She loves the sport but its not her life and I can't see spending 800.00 every time she needs a new pair. I have better things to do with my money like pay bills! I am feeling like the quilty mom when all the other girls get brand new and she always gets used. I feel like for some reason I am holding her back. But the skate doesn't make the skater right!!??

They have very cheap skates that are new.
And don't get your daughter used skates-they can cause your daughter to have foot problems. I did that when I was younger, and now have to see a foot doctor because I don't walk right.
Really, DON'T get your daughter used skates.
