When breastfeeding does your baby keying a disgruntled angry scream?
Often when I am feeding my son he will let out this disgruntled, angry scream and start clawing at his face. It really upsets me and I try to calm him down so he gets back to feeding. Anyone else have a baby that just starts getting angry mid feeding? I am producing milk, so it isn't like he is getting frustrated with lack of flow, but he really freaks out. Any ideas why?

I don't understand the clawing at his face but the screaming sounds like gas. Is he scratching himself or is he making fists and bringing them close to his face?
I ask because if he is making fists and bringing them close to his face it is most likely gas. If he is scratching himself then it is something on his skin that he is getting from skin to skin contact.
Sometimes, a baby needs to be stopped in the middle of a feeding and burped. Be sure that you are not eating anything that will cause gas, no beans, broccoli, onions or cabbage. Then feed him for about a minute, burp him and then continue to nurse him. He may be getting to much air in at first because of hunger. Just slow him down a few times by burbling him before he keeps going. That will allow his stomach to fill better. Sometimes just changing positions can help him.
Be sure that you do not put any creams on your breast that may have menthol or alcohol in them as that can often times cause his cheeks to burn. Menthol is an ingredient in a lot of lotions. Use baby oil or something that you would use on him. don't use any scents on your body, no soap with a scent and no perfume and that includes your clothes. If he is sensitive to those things, you may see some redness on his body. Be sure that you are clean, don't nurse right after doing a zumba workout, the salts on top of your skin may be causing him issues.
Insure that the Temperature in your room is not to warm. Baby's will get extra heat from your body so while nursing, you may want things to be a bit cooler. If his skin is sensitive he will actually feel a burning, like a sun burn from your body heat.
And relax a bit. If you are a brand new mother you may be tensing during nursing. If you find your arms are getting tired, you are tensing and you may be holding him to tightly. If he sucks hard and causes you pain, you are most defiantly holding him too tightly. He may just need room to breath.
If it is none of these things or even a combo of some of these then I have a few more things you can try but work on these things first. As I said at the top, it is probably gas but it could be a few things together. Work on it for 24 hours and if you still have problems and no better ideas, let me know and I will give you the last of this old lady mothers advice.
